Below you will find a list of programs and services available to Schuyler Residents.

It should be noted that some of the grant funding is cyclical, so please check the site often for available funding.

Economic Opportunity Program (EOP)	The EOP's Energy Services Bureau provides weatherization services which allow households to conserve energy and fuel usage. This makes the homes more safe and efficient, which in turn reduces the cost of utility bills. Statistics show that Energy Service Bureau clients save 15 to 20 percent on their heating bills after Energy Services Bureau services are rendered.	Economic Opportunity Program
Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP)	To assist homeless/potentially homeless with first month's rent or a mortgage payment (not including taxes or fees) to halt an eviction. There are limited funds and does not include security deposits or utilities.	Economic Opportunity Program (EOP)

Emergency Services (Schuyler County Department of Social Service (DSS))	If you are homeless or without food or housing, Schuyler County DSS can assist eligible families.	Schuyler County Department of Social Services
Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)	HEAP provides energy assistance to low income households through payments to those households' fuel and/or utility suppliers. This program also provides emergency assistance for repair or replacement of essential heating equipment and in fuel emergency situations.	Schuyler County Department of Social Services
Housing Programs (United States Department of Agriculture (USDA))	The USDA Rural Development department has a number of grants, loans and programs available.	Single and Multi Family Housing Loans and Grants
NYS RESTORE Program	The NYS RESTORE Program is an emergency home repair program made available by the NYS Housing Trust Fund Corporation, through Community Progress, Inc., for elderly homeowners age 60 and over.	Community Progress
Project Share	If your energy bills are more than you can handle, Project SHARE may be able to help.  The Project SHARE Heating Fund is designed to help income-eligible customers with active disconnect notices in both the NYSEG service areas. The Project SHARE Heating Fund is administered by HeartShare Human Services of New York. To receive a Project SHARE Heating Fund grant, you must: ·    Have an active account with NYSEG ·    Meet the HEAP income guideline ·    Have an active disconnect notice ·    Exhausted all other assistance programs, such as HEAP, food stamps, Medicaid and local or county emergency aid	NYSEG project SHARE heating fund
Schuyler Housing Opportunities Council (SHOC)	SHOC is dedicated to ensuring that Schuyler County residents have access to needed home repairs that will enable them to live in a safe and healthy environment. Assistance is available to low-income, handicapped, or elderly individuals and families who need to upgrade or improve existing conditions that are unsafe or unhealthy. Section 8 Rental Assistance Program	The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program provides assistance to very low and low-income households in Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben Counties.	Arbor Housing and Development
Well/Septic Repairs (Community Development Block Grant	Arbor Housing and Development currently has funds available for Schuyler County homeowners to repair well and septic systems and is accepting applications.
