Department Responsibilities


This is probably the most familiar office in the county building. The DMV, a department under the auspice of the County Clerk’s Office, provides many and varied services including learner’s permits, driving licenses, non-driver identification, registrations for motor vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, and RVs. Schuyler County’s DMV also offers escort testing and handles enforcement problems. 

    

  

Beginning July 26, 2021, the Schuyler County DMV will be re-open to the public for walk-ins. 

Our hours will be:  

 Monday-Friday 

8:30am – 11:45am 

(Closed for Lunch 11:45am-1:00pm)  

1:00pm –4:15pm 

 

License Reciprocity, Restricted License, Conditional License, Enhanced and REAL ID license will be processed between the hours of 8:30am-3:30pm (closed for lunch 11:45am-1:00pm). 

*Class D and M permit tests will be given between the hours of 8:30am-3:30pm (closed for lunch 11:45am-1:00pm). 

*Commercial permit tests will be given between the hours of 8:30am-2:30pm (closed for lunch 11:45am-1:00pm). 

         *Please note that we have limited resources for administering permit tests. They are given on a first come first served basis.

You may also use the drop-off box located to the right of the entrance. When you renew locally instead of mailing them to Albany, 12.7% of that renewal fee stays here in Schuyler County.
